Actually all of the reds in this line-up are a great value. I feel that the Cab shows the best showing a little more backbone then it's siblings. This is everything you would expect from a cab with soft cherry tones a touch of plum and anise. At  this price you do not get structured tannins and wood tones but what I like about this wine is that it is not a fruit bomb like many of them can be. No, this is a well made wine with soft tannins that is easy to drink and is something you can drink everyday and feel good about. A winner in my book. 

Rob Griffin has for a long time came out with this non vintage cabernet sauvignon-merlot. The reason it is non vintage is that the winery likes to use up extra juice by blending it and making this usually outstanding cab-merlot blend. If you check into it you can find out what is in the bottle. This particular release is a blend of '02 cab and '04 merlot which makes for an absolutely stunning wine. I have always been a fan of this wine, but let me tell you they have hit a homerun with this blend. It is by and far the best I have tasted in the last five years. This wine displays rich fruit yet not even close to over-the-top in ripeness. A well balanced wine with sturdy yet smooth tanins, dark fruit with hints of ripe cherry and plum notes along with a finish that lingers a lot longer then you might expect. This wine drinks well by itself but will pair nicely with grilled meats and pasta with red sauce. A real steal at this price. Buy it now before Rob changes his blend!!!
