An Austrian wine with a funny shaped bottle and a beer cap. How good can that be? Let me tell you that you are in for a pleasant surprise. I would like to emphasize pleasant because the wine is easy to drink and has wonderful soft fruit tones. You will not write home to mom about this experience, but you will be back to the store to purchase more. This wine displays delicious banana, lemon drop and herbal notes throughout the mid-palate and has a very pleasant finish. The bouquet is nice and refreshing without a lot of acidity. This wine is not bright yet it is certainly not flabby. This is a great wine to match with salads, chicken, sushi, and it is simply wonderful by itself. A great deal at eleven bucks for a one liter bottle. There is a limited supply so make sure you get some before it is gone. Stan

I was debating with myself as to whether or not I should put this under "Stan’s Picks" or "Hot Wine Deals". It is a close call and could go either way. For now I will select it as a hot deal. This wine is incredible for the price. Since wine is made from grapes, it is nice to find one that actually tastes like pure grape juice. Marselan is a hybrid grape that was derived from a cross between Grenache and Cabernet Sauvignon. Up to this time I had never really paid attention to this varietal. I wish that I had because this was a pleasant surprise. The wine shows nice round boysenberry, dark plum and creamy oak tones with that nice earthiness that comes out of many of the french wines. Not too gutsy but robust enough to satisfy those who like a heartier wine, yet fruit forward enough to satisfy those who like to enjoy a glass of wine all by itself. It never ceases to amaze me when I find a wine of this quality for a mere ten bucks. This is worth every penny and a lot more. For me this would make a great everyday red. Enjoy!!
